The Collection of Gemstones
This section highlights a splendid variety of wearable works of art made of gemstones - in which gemstones are the focal point. Gemstones can be classified as precious or semi precious and while both are equally desireable, the rarity, the cut, the clarity, and the weight, all play an important role in value. Traditionally, precious gemstones - such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc. are 1) classified as minerals - meaning they are substances that have naturally evolved geologically and have a specific atomic structure and 2) are seen as having the most value. Pretty much all other types of gemstones are considered semi precious. Some of these include 1) a combination of elements to create certain gemstones like amethyst or chalcedony. 2) rocks such as Lapis Lazuli and Jasper and 3) organic compounds like Amber. With the emergence of beautiful semi precious gemstones like these, exquisite artistry has really taken off! We invite you explore this wonderful world and share in its glory!
