Swarovski crystals were invented in Wattens, Australia in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski while in the midst of perfecting mechanized precision cutting tool. It's amazing what precipitates what sometimes! Swarovski crystals are made of leaded crystal glass that has been specifically cut to maximize refraction and give us that awesome spark. Some Swarovski crystals have special finishes on them to highlight more color and pattern - one such finish is Aurora Borealis (or AB for short) and has become quite popular in the realm of jewelry and accessories.
