The Fine Silver or Pure Silver Collection
Fine Silver, sometimes referred to as Pure Silver, is 99.9% pure silver. It is softer than Sterling Silver and can thus be a bit more difficult to work with so it requires special handling and technique. But by the same token, because Fine Silver is more pliable it is easily hammered and molded to provide interesting dimension and character to each piece.
There is also another technique used to produce very elegant and more detailed pieces of Fine Silver (or the fine version of any metal). It is called precious metal clay technique or PMC. Tiny particles of a specific metal are suspended in a clay like substance. The clay is then molded to form the desired object and then the whole unit is baked or heated to burn away the clay and leave the pure metal behind. In the case of silver, this technique yields 99.9% or Fine Silver. Some of the Fine Silver pieces in this section, are made of precious metal clay and typically, those are the pendants in the pieces.
